5-Couple Square SetThere are a few examples of this Scottish Country Dancing format, the 5-Couple square set, in which the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Couples are as in the 4-Couple Square set format and the 5th Couple is in the centre; all five Couples are involved throughout and there is usually Progression. The 5th Couple is the Dancing couple. At the end of 5 Repeats, the dancers are normally back in their Original Places though in one example, Spiffin, the whole Set Finishes rotated one Place clockwise.
