THE ANNAN REEL (R3x32) 3C set Sue Petyt

1- 8 1s set and cast 1 place, 1s dance ½ diag R&L with 1st corners
9-16 1s dance ½ diag R&L with 4th corners, 1s set and cast to 3rd place
17-24 1s cross RH, cast to top, all set and ½ turn RH to face up
25-32 1s+3s+2s dance Allemande

The Annan Reel (R3x32) 3C set Sue Petyt

1-4 First couple set to each other and cast off one place, second couple step up on bars 3-4
5-8 First couple dance half diagonal rights and lefts with their first corners
5-6 First lady changes places right hand with second man, while first man changes places right hand with third lady
7-8 First and third ladies change places left hands, while first and second men change places left hands
9-12 First couple dance half diagonal rights and lefts with their second corners
9-10 First lady changes places right hand with second lady, while first man changes places right hand with third man
11-12 First lady and third man change places left hands, while first man and second lady change places left hands
13-16 First couple set to each other and cast one place. (3)(2) 1
17-20 First couple cross over giving right hands and cast up to top place, third and second couple step down on 19-20
21-24 All join hands on the sides and set to partners. All turn partners half way round with the right hand and finish in the centre of the set
25-32 First, third and second couples dance a three couple Allemande
Repeat from new positions

The music for this dance is available on the CD We Twa recorded by Kenny Thomson and the Wardlaw Band.
Written for the Annan Branch of the RSCDS when they wanted a 3 couple Reel.

Annan is a town on the river Annan 15 miles from Dumfries, in the region of Dumfries and Galloway on the Solway Firth in the south of Scotland.
