5-couple dance in longways set

  1-8   1ST SET, CAST, AND TURN: 1st couple set, cast off two places (2nd and 3rd couples stepping up), then 1st couple turn 1½ times with left hands to end facing 2nd double corners (1st man faces 2nd and 3rd women, 1st woman faces 4th and 5th men);

  9-16 REEL OF 4 WITH 2ND DOUBLE CORNERS HAND-IN-HAND: 1st couple dance a reel of 4 with 2nd double corners who dance Hand-in-Hand (2nd and 3rd women, and 4th and 5th men join nearer hands to dance the reel: on reaching the opposite corner they drop hands pulling right shoulder back individually and join other nearer hands to come back, again dropping hands as they turn into the same place they started the reel)(end with 1st couple passing left shoulders to face 1st double corners: 1st man faces 4th and 5th women, 1st woman faces 2nd and 3rd men);

17-24 REEL OF 4 WITH 1ST DOUBLE CORNERS HAND-IN-HAND: 1st couple dance a reel of 4 with 1st double corners who dance Hand-in-Hand (2nd and 3rd men, and 4th and 5th women join nearer hands to dance the reel: on reaching the opposite corner they drop hands pulling right shoulder back individually and join other nearer hands to come back, again dropping hands as they turn into the same place they started the reel (end with 1st couple passing left shoulders as they dance into 3rd place on own side);

24-30 TANDEM REEL OF 3 ON SIDE: 1st man dances a reel of 3 on men's side starting by passing 4th man by the left shoulder (2nd and 3rd men, and 4th and 5th men in tandem switching the lead at each end of the reel) AS 1st woman dance a reel of 3 on woman's side starting by passing 3rd woman by the left shoulder (2nd and 3rd women, and 4th and 5th women in tandem switching the lead at each end of the reel;

31-32 1ST CAST TO BOTTOM AS 4TH AND 5TH DANCE UP ONE PLACE: 1st couple cast off two places to the bottom of the set AS 4th and 5th couples dance up the middle one place (N.B. this is a continuation of the reel).

REPEAT WITH NEW TOP COUPLE.
