The deviser, Jean Mair, created this dance for her sister, Jessie Bain (1909-2004), who was a pianist at Banffshire Scottish country dance classes and who received the RSCDS' Scroll of Honour in 1986.

Compliments To Mrs Jessie Bain won the competition for dances devised for the 60th Anniversary of the Banffshire branch.
