1-4      1s cast and dance down outside the set;
5-8      1s cast up to places;
9-12    1s2s right hands across;
13-16  1s2s left hands across;
17-19  1s lead down;
20-22  1s lead up;
23-24  1s cast to 2nd place;
25-32  2s1s rights and lefts.

Dance Notes

17-22  Since this lead down and up is followed by cast on own sides, it is desirable to use nearer hands for the lead up and so it is neater to use nearer hands for the lead down, too.

Dance Information

Crabbit is a Scots word meaning "ill-tempered". Shona is an anglicization of the Scots Gaelic names Seonag, whose equivalent in English is Joan, and Seonaid, whose equivalent is Janet.
