Dance Information

County Durham is also known as 'The Land Of The Prince Bishops' since the region was set apart by William the Conqueror as being one of 3 Palatine autonomous areas (with Chester and Lancaster), ruled over by Noblemen on behalf of the Monarch. Bishops were considered to be the princes of the church.
