Scottish Country Dance Instruction

ROCKING HORSE (M-2x(S48+J48)) Sq.Set M Johnstone

1- 8 1s and 3s Adv+Ret and dance ½ RandL
9-16 2s and 4s repeat
17-24 All couples set, petronella 1 place in tandem to right, each couple with M leading chase back to place and ¾ turn RH (Ladies into centre)
25-32 All Ladies dance LH across once round while Men dance round ½ way clockwise, Ladies face out and set to opposite Man and ½ turn RH
33-40 Men dance LH across once round while Ladies dance ½ way clockwise to original places, set to partners and turn ¾ RH to place
41-48 All circle 8H round ½ way to left, set and cast back to end having progressed 1 place to the left round the set
Repeat as a Jig, then as a Strathspey and finally as a Jig. Each time starting from new places
