STRATHAVEN RANT (R8x32) 3C (4C set) John S Trew Martello Tower 1

1- 8 1s and 3s petronella turn into centre and set, turn partner RH to end facing partner (Men face up)
9-16 1s+3s dance reel of 4 up/down dance with 3s ending in own places and 1s remaining in middle
17-24 1s ¾ turn RH and cast 1 place opposite sides, turn LH to face 1st corners
25-32 1s dance reels of 3 across dance giving LSh to 1st corners to start

Strathaven (from Gaelic: Strath Aibhne, meaning "valley of the Avon") is a historic market town in South Lanarkshire, Scotland and is the largest settlement in Avondale. The town was granted a Royal Charter in 1450, making the Town of Strathaven a burgh of barony.
