Dance Information

This jig, Strathcarron, was not named after the Strathcarron area in west Ross-shire, in the Scottish Highlands.

It was actually named after the local Strathcarron Hospice near Denny, Falkirk, Stirlingshire.

John Drewry's notes in his book explain that Robert H. Mackay asked John if he could devise a dance for the hospice.
