Dance Notes

  3-34     3M and 1L are the dancing "couple" (they play the principal part).

  3-4       3M and 1L cast into the chase.

  9-10     3M and 1L lead this chase and both finish at the left end of the lines of 3 across.

11-         All start in lines across the set.

17-         All start in lines across the set.

21-         All start in the sidelines.

25-40     This is a repeat of bars 1-16 with the set rotated 90o clockwise though the dancers start in a different order from that at bar 1.

25-         All start in lines across the set.

27-28     3M and 1L cast into the chase.

32-34     3M and 1L lead this chase, finishing 3s2s1s on own sides.

35-         All start in the sidelines.

41-48     On the 2nd, 4th and 6th repeats, WHILE 2s complete the set and rotate normally, 1s modify their movements to chase to 3rd place on opposite sides as follows, only returning to their own sides on bar 4 of the next repeat:

    41-42 1L finish facing out;

    43-44 1M cross to 1L's place WHILE 1L cast one place finishing outside the Ls' line, still facing down;

    45-46 1L continue to cast to finish in 3L's place WHILE 1M cast one place finishing outside the Ls' line, still facing down, WHILE 3s step up one place;

    47-48 1L cross to 3M's place WHILE 1M continue to cast to 3L's place, 1s finishing on opposite sides.

  1-4       At the beginning of the next (3rd, 5th or 7th) repeat, the former 1s (now in 4th place of the full set) take hands with the new 3s and set and cross by the left to own sides.
