Scottish Country Dance Instruction

Whirlybird by Sue McKinnell 8x32 Jig for 3C

1-8 1C set then cast below 3C and lead up to face first corners; 2C step up on bars 3 and 4.
9-16 1C set to 1st corners who set back. 1C trade places by RH with first corners. 1C and first corners set to each other, 3W and 2M (in middle) turning over RS to face each other. 2M and 3W turn by RH ¾ to end 3W facing 2W, 2M facing 3M.
17-24 3W and 2W, 2M and 3M set to each other. 3W and 2W, 2M and 3M trade places by RH. 3W and 2W, 2M and 3M set to each other, 2W and 3M (in middle) turning over RS to face each other. 2W and 3M turn by RH ¾ to end 2W facing 1W, 3M facing 1M.
25-32 2W and 1W, 3M and 1M set to each other. 2W and 1W, 3M and 1M trade places by RH. 2W and 1W, 3M and 1M set to each other, 1C (in middle) turning over RS to face each other. 1C turn by RH to own sides in 2nd place, WHILE 2C and 3C chase 1 position CW.
Repeat.

Note that the figure that is repeated three times in this dance occurs on the first diagonal, then the second diagonal, then back on the first diagonal.
