First Corner

Explanation of First corner in Scottish Country Dancing.

In a Longwise set, when the Couples are on their Own sides and in the order 2 1 3, 3rd Lady is the 1st Man's First corner and 2nd Man is the 1st Lady's (see Diagram 23).

At the start of a 4-Couple Square set, the Man's First corner is the Lady on his left and the Lady's is the Man on her right (see Diagram 22).
