Petronella MovementsThis page, Petronella movements, links to those Scottish Country Dancing Figures which use the basic Petronella turn, a Figure in which a Setting step (either Pas-de-basque or the Strathspey setting step) is modified to enable a limited Travelling movement, most usually diagonally forward and to the right. The Travelling movement takes place on the first beat of the right foot step of Pas-de-basque, only; with the Strathspey setting step, it may take place on the third as well as the first beat. The remainder of the 2-bar Figure is used to Turn on the spot, clockwise. Links to Pages Related to 'Petronella Movements'
