Scottish Country Dance Instruction

1- 8 1s dance down the middle (4 steps), dance up (2 steps) and cast up behind 2s into top place
9-16 1s+2s dance Rose Progression:
 9-10 1M+2L set as 1L+2M change places RH
 11-12 1M+2L ½ turn 2H to face each other as 2M and 1L dance into partner's place
 13-14 2L+1M cast into each other's place as 1L+2M ½ turn 2H to face each other
 15-16 2L and 1M dance into 1st/2nd places own sides as 2M and 1L cast to right
17-24 All circle 6H round and back
25-32 2s+1s+3s Set and Rotate for 3 couples:
 Set and rotate singly and chase clockwise to form lines of 3 across (Men facing down and Ladies up) all change places RH with partner and chase clockwise to own sides. 312

1 - 4 1st couple dance down the middle.
5 - 8 1st couple dance up the middle for two steps, releasing hands at the end of bar 6 to cast up behind 2nd couple to original places.
9 - 16 1st and 2nd couples dance the rose progression as follows:
 9 - 10 1st woman and 2nd man, giving right hands, change places to face out; 1st man and 2nd woman, facing in diagonally, set.
 11 - 12 1st woman dances up the side to 1st man's place; 2nd man dances down the side to 2nd woman's place; 1st man and 2nd woman, giving both hands, turn halfway to face each other with hands joined.
 13 - 14 1st man and 2nd woman, pulling back by the right, cast out to 2nd woman's and 1st man's places; 1st woman and 2nd man, giving both hands, turn halfway to face each other with hands joined.
 15 - 16 1st woman and 2nd man, pulling back by the right, cast out to 2nd woman's and 1st man's places; 1st man and 2nd woman dance across the set to 2nd man's and 1st woman's places.
17 - 24 All three couples dance six hands round and back.
25 - 32 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance set and rotate for three couples.

Repeat with a new top couple.
