The Bumpkin - Scottish Country Dancing Instruction VideoDance Information
The Bumpkin is a Scottish Country Dance published by Campbell in c. 1799 and interpreted by the RSCDS in Book 2, published 1926. Originally titled "The Country Bumkin." It is a dance of 3 lines of trios. It is a 296 bar jig.(Dance information copyright, reproduced here with the kind permission of George Williams)
It is noted that there are some considerable discrepancies surrounding this dance (also known as Ninesome Reel).
The main point of contact seems to be that it appears in RSCDS Book 2.
