Scottish Country Dance Instruction

1- 8 1s cast behind lines, turn outwards and cast back up to 2nd place (2s step up 3-4)
9-16 2s set and cross passing RSh and stand for 4 bars while 1s stand for 2 bars, set, cross RSh, stand for 2 bars while 3s stand for 4 bars, set, cross RSh. (2)(1)(3)
17-24 All chase clockwise ½ way, 2L and 3M pull back LSh for ½ reels of 3 on the sides (1M up, 1L down, LSh to 3rd corner to start) 1s end facing 1st corners)
25-32 1s dance 'Hello-Goodbye' to end with Petronella turn to 2nd place facing out.

Note: at start of 3rd time through, 1s cast to 4th place, 4s step up

1-8 1C cast off and dance down behind own lines then cast up to 2nd place. 2C step up on bars 3-4.
9-16 2C set and cross the set passing right shoulder.
 On bar 3, 1C set and cross the set passing right shoulder.
 On bar 5, 3C set and cross the set passing right shoulder.
17-20 All chase clockwise halfway around the set, 2W and 3M pulling left shoulders back to be ready for...
21-24 Reels of 3 halfway on the sides, 1W passing 2W in 3W's place left shoulder while 1M passes 3M in 1M's place left shoulder. 1C end facing 1st corners.
25-32 1C and corners dance set to corners and partner (hello-goodbye).
 On the last 2 bars, 1C dance a petronella turn to 2nd place on own sides to end facing out ready to repeat. At the start of the 3rd repetition of the dance, 1C cast off to 4th place as a new couple casts off from the top.

Repeat.
