Dance Information

Come Ashore, Jolly Tar is a Scottish Country Dance of uncertain origin and interpreted by the RSCDS, Book 7, 1931.

(Dance information copyright, reproduced here with the kind permission of George Williams)

There is also a step dance devised by Derek Haynes by the same name Come Ashore, Jolly Tar - Highland Dance Video published in the second volume of the RSCDS St. Andrew's Collection of Step Dances.

Not only was Derek an excellent Scottish country dancer and step dancer, and teacher of both, he was also a deviser of many Scottish country dances.
