CROM ALLT (The Crooked Burn) (R8x32) 3C (4C set) Roy Goldring 24 G and S dances

1- 8 1s dance reels of 3 on own sides (in and down to start)
9-16 1s+2s turn on sides 1½ times (Men RH and Ladies LH), 1s dance between 3s and cast up to 2nd place on own sides
17-24 1s+1st corners advance and retire, 1s+1st corners turn RH
25-32 1s+2nd corners advance and retire, 1s+2nd corners turn LH

Reel 8 x 32 bars 3 Couple Repeat 4 Couple Set Longwise Set

  1-8   Taking nearer hands to start, 1s dance mirror reels of 3 on own sides, 2s finishing facing out;

  9-12 1M2M turn 1½ times by the right WHILE 1L2L turn 1½ times by the left, 1s finishing facing down, nearer hands joined;

13-16 1s lead down between 3s and cast up to 2nd place on own side;

17-20 1s, passing left shoulder, advance and retire with first corners;

21-24 1s turn first corners by the right, finishing facing second corners;

25-28 1s, passing right shoulder, advance and retire with second corners;

29-32 1s turn second corners by the left, finishing 2s1s3s.

Dance Notes

29-32 In the 2nd, 4th and 6th repeats, 1s must finish in 4th place and 3s in 3rd place of the full set; modify the final bars as follows:

29-30 1s turn second corners by the left, halfway;

31-32 1s and second corners continue the turn by the left, 2L finishing normally, 1L crossing and 1M casting quickly to 4th place of the full set WHILE 3L step up one place.

Dance Information

In Gaelic, "Crom Allt" means "Crooked Burn" or "Crooked Stream".

Crom Allt should be pronounced as "Krom Oult" in English where "Ou" is as in "loud".
