Dance Information

The Dhoon is a local name for a sandy beach popular with children and families. It is situated in Dumfries and Galloway at the mouth of the River Dee, and within Nun Mill Bay.

It lies south of Kirkudbright (pronounced "kir-coo-bree"), and looks across the Dee to the peninsula St Mary's Isle.

Robert Burns was reputed to have spoken The Selkirk Grace Prayer while making a visit to St Mary's Isle.
