Dance Information

Effsiesse is a courtship dance similar in style to Catch The Wind. Its name reflects the concept behind each eight-bar phrase, serving as a mnemonic: FCSC.

The dance begins with flirting, as partners briefly catch each other's gaze while weaving across the set in a parallel reel.

This is followed by a chase, where the woman leads and the man follows, adding to the playful interaction. As they move up the set, turning towards and away from each other, there is a moment of hesitation before the woman finally turns to face her partner. The next section highlights the first couple in a solo sequence, danced while holding hands throughout.

The dance concludes with the other dancers joining in for a lively circle, celebrating the courtship.

Recommended music: C'est L'Amour (The Flirt).
