The Giants Of Foudland - Scottish Country Dancing Instruction VideoDance Information
The Giants Of Foudland's deviser, Alison Smith, was inspired by some of the first Wind turbines to be seen in Aberdeenshire, sited in the Glens of Foudland. The Glens of Foudland, a hilly area in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, is known for its wind farm, a prominent feature of the landscape. The area has been historically important for its granite quarries, which provided building materials used in local and national construction projects. The terrain consists of rolling hills, and it is often subject to strong winds due to its elevation, making it an ideal location for harnessing wind power.
The Glens of Foudland also has a connection to transportation history, as a railway line once passed through the area, contributing to the development of local industry, especially in quarrying and transport of granite. Today, the area is more notable for its scenic value and its renewable energy contributions.
