1- 8 1s dance in and cast 1 place, 1s dance ½ reels of 3 across (Lady with 2s and Man with 3s)
9-16 1s dance down between 3s, cast up to 2nd place opposite sides and dance ½ reels of 3 across (Man with 2s and Lady with 3s)
17-24 2s+1s dance R&L
25-32 1s dance down between 3s, cast up to 2nd place and 2s+1s+3s turn RH

Dance Information

The Highland Lass is a Scottish Country Dance published by John Young (Playford family) in 1710 and interpreted by the RSCDS in Book 30, 1981.

John Young wrote:

The first Cu. cast off and whole Figure at Top -
Then cast off and whole Figure at Bottom -
Then lead quite thro' the Top and cast off in the 2d Cu. Place, and Right and Left quite round with the 2d Cu -
The cross over below the 3d Cu. and half Figure with the 3d Cu. and lead up thro' the Top and turn your Partner.
