Scottish Country Dance Instruction
The Irish Clover 40 Bar Strathspey For 3 Couples In A 3 Couple Set, Devised By Viktor Lehmann, 2020.Second couple is dancing couple.
1-4 Second couple (giving left shoulder to pass) with first man and third lady dance half a reel of four on the first diagonal, second couple finishing between couples, man facing up, lady facing down.
5-8 All set and link for three, starting in lines across the dance.
9-12 All set and link for three, starting from the sidelines. All men are now in a line across the set in top place, facing down, ladies in third place facing up.
13-16 Second couple (giving left shoulder to pass) with third man and first lady dance half a reel of four on the second diagonal, all finishing in the order 1, 2, 3 on own side.
17-20 Second couple dance around one another with no hands (right shoulder) for two bars, then continue turning both hands to finish facing third corner position.
21-24 Half a reel on the first diagonal, second couple finishing between couples, man facing down, lady facing up.
25-32 Repeat the movement of bars 17-24 from new positions: Second couple dance around one another with no hands (right shoulder) for two bars, then continue turning both hands to finish facing second corner position. Half a reel on the second diagonal, all finishing in the order 3, 2, 1 on opposite side.
33-34 All turn partner with both hands half way, third and second couple stay in the center facing down, first couple dance out to the sidelines.
35-40 Second couple, followed by third couple, dance down the middle (nearer hands joined), cast up behind the standing first couple and dance up to finish in the order 2, 3, 1.

This dance is dedicated to Anika Lange and Wolfgang Hahn on the occasion of their wedding. The four half reels represent the Irish clover, as Ireland is special to them, as much as is Scottish Country Dancing.The last figure - of course - is "walking down the aisle."
