Dance Information

(Dance information by the deviser, Sue McKinnell)
Bobbin lace is a type of lace textile created by braiding and twisting threads, which are wound onto bobbins for easier handling. As the lace is crafted, pins are inserted into a lace pillow to secure the weaving in place, with the pins typically arranged according to a pattern or design, often pinned onto the pillow itself.
This lace is also referred to as pillow lace due to its being made on a pillow, and bone lace, since early bobbins were often made from bone or ivory.
Bobbin lace is one of the two primary types of handmade lace, with the other being needle lace.
