Dance Information

"Maister" is an old spelling of "master", commonly used in Middle English and Scots.

It was a term of respect or authority, often referring to someone skilled in a craft or trade, such as a master craftsman. It could also denote a teacher or someone in a position of leadership.

The word reflects historical language usage and may still appear in Scottish traditions or as part of surnames and titles.
