The Deviser of this dance, John Bayly, lived in New Milton.

New Milton is a market town in south west Hampshire, England and dates back to before the Domesday Book. It encompasses Old Milton, Barton-on-Sea, Ashley, and Bashley and is recorded as having a population of approximately 23,000 in 2001.
