Scottish Country Dance Instruction
Moving South (S8x40) 3C set Sue Petyt1-4 First couple turn with the right hand all the way round and cast off one place. Second couple step up on bars 3-4
5-6 Second, first and third couples join hands on the sides and set
7-8 Second couple cast to third place, first couple dance up to the top and cast back to second place, third couple dance up to the top
9-16 First couple pass each other left shoulder and dance a reel of four with first corner positions. (second lady and third man). First couple dance left shoulder round each other and finish facing second corner positions
17-24 First couple dance a reel of 4 with second corner positions (second man and third lady). finish by turning left hand to put the lady between the third couple (in top place) and the man between the second couple
25-30 First lady dances a reel of three across the dance with third couple giving left shoulder to third man, WHILE first man dances a reel of three across the dance with second couple giving left shoulder to second lady. First couple finish the reel in second place
31-32 Third, first and second couples turn partner right hand and finish ready for an Allemande
33-40 Dance a three couple Allemande
Repeat having passed a couple
