The Poppy And The Thistle (S4x32) 4C (4C set) 32 bar Strathspey for 4 Couples in a 4 Couple Set, devised by Deanna Saint Amand, 2015, Published In Celebrating 50 Years (Los Angeles).
3rd and 4th couples begin on opposite sidelines. 12(3)(4)

1- 8 1st and 4th couples cross right hand and cast inwards as 2nd and 3rd couples step out
 All set and turn partner both hands halfway, opening to face 2nd and 4th couples down, and 1st and 3rd couples up, all nearer hands joined with ladies on men's right. (2)1(4)3
9-16 Dance Zig Zag Progression:
 All set advancing, passing left shoulder to exchange places
 1st and 4th couples (on the ends) turn partner both hands halfway, opening to face 1st couple down and 4th couple up, while 2nd and 3rd couples (in the centre) set advancing, passing left shoulder to exchange places, all nearer hands joined
 Repeat the previous two bars
 3rd and 2nd couples (on the ends) dance forward and loop to sidelines while 1st and 4th couples (in the centre) set advancing, passing left shoulder to exchanged places, finishing nearer hands joined. 34(1)(2)
17-24 4th and 1st couples dance out through the end couples and cast inwards. 34(1)(2)
 4th and 1st couples set and dance half right hands across. 31(4)(2)
25-32 Eight hands round to the left for two bars and set in the circle
 Eight hands round to the right for two bars to sidelines and all set. 31(4)(2)

The logo chosen for the 50th anniversary of the Los Angeles Branch features the intertwined stems of the California Golden Poppy and the Scottish Thistle.

It is framed by the name of our Branch at the top, with the dates "1966-2016" at the bottom, and a prominent "50" at the center.
