Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, KG, GCVO, CD, ADC, born on 10 March 1964, is a member of the British royal family. As the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, he is also the junior sibling of King Charles III. Initially born as the third in line of succession to the British throne, he currently holds the fourteenth position.Born at Buckingham Palace during his mother's reign, Edward studied at Heatherdown School and completed A-Levels at Gordonstoun. He pursued history at Jesus College, Cambridge, graduating in 1986. After a brief Royal Marines stint, he worked in theatre production and TV before establishing his company, Ardent Productions.
In 2002, he dedicated himself to full-time royal duties, engaging in charitable work with over 70 organizations, focusing on arts, athletics, and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Edward, Earl of Wessex, married Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999, and they have two children.
His mother granted him the Earl of Forfar title in 2019, and on his 59th birthday in 2023, Charles III conferred upon him the Duke of Edinburgh title as a life peerage, succeeding their late father.
