Strathspey 8 x 32 bars 2 Couple Repeat 4 Couple Set Longwise Set

  1-8   1ST COUPLE TURN AND ½ FIGURE OF 8: 1st couple turn once round with right hands, cross down between 2nd couple, and cast up to partners' place;

  9-16 1ST AND 2ND COUPLES LADIES' CHAIN: 1st and 2nd couples dance a Ladies' Chain up and down the set;

17-24 SET AND CIRCLE: 1st and 2nd couples nearer hands joined with partners set and circle left for two steps, set and circle left for another two steps;

25-32 TURN AND HALF POUSSETTE: 1st and 2nd couples turn partners with both hands (1st couple 1½ times, 2nd couple once round) ending in a diagonal line between 1st man's and 2nd woman's place (1st couple turn 1½ times, AS 2nd couple turn once round), and dance ½ poussette.

Repeat having passed a couple.

Dance Notes

As with all dances having the format, 2-Couple Repeat in a 4-Couple Set, if dancer numbers so dictate it can be performed in a 3-Couple or 5-Couple Set and with the number of repeats adjusted appropriately.
