Dance Information

This strathspey, The Sands Of Forvie, was dedicated to the memory of Margaret Kendall who loved Forvie (Aberdeenshire). She was a dancer, teacher and artist.

The Sands of Forvie is a nature reserve north of Newburgh in Aberdeenshire in the northeast of Scotland which has an expanse of sand dunes, underneath which lies a village buried in a sandstorm over four centuries ago.

Forvie National Nature Reserve has the fifth largest sand dune system in Britain, and the least disturbed by human activity.
