Scottish Country Dance Instruction
VINTAGE SIMON (J5x32) 5C set Dorothy Hargreaves RSCDS Book 471- 8 1s and 5s cross RH as 3s set. 3s dance up, curving into 1st place and set (2s+4s step down bars 3-4) while 1s and 5s chase clockwise to 4th/2nd place, 5s and 1s turn partners RH to face 1st corners.
9-16 5s and 1s dance Corner Chain with setting with 1st corners:
5s/1s change place RH with 1st corners and set, 1st corners turn LH in middle and return to places giving RH to 5s/1s who turn LH in middle to face 2nd corners
17-24 5s/1s repeat with 2nd corner and end 5s/1s turning partners LH in middle to end side by side facing opposite sides
25-32 All dance RH across (3s+5L, 2s+5M+1L, 1M+4s), 5s+1s give LH to Balance-in-Line then turn partners LH to own sides. 35214

This jig, Vintage Simon, was written (at the request of Gleneagles Scottish Dance Group) in celebration of Simon Scott and his 50 years of teaching Scottish Country Dancing.The Gleneagles group is named after the Gleneagles Golf Clubhouse, West Vancouver, which was the original venue for the group after its formation in the 1960s.
