Figure Of Eight Across

The dance term Figure of eight across is an 8-bar combination of Cross up and Cast down or Cross down and Cast up, starting with either the Crossing or the Casting movement, and then repeated from the new Place; the Scottish Country Dancer Finishes in the Place in which s/he started.
