Lassie What Mair Wad Ye Ha'e is the title of a poem written by the Scottish poet Alexander Gray some time before 1940.This poem likely originated as "Du Hast Diamanten und Perlen" by the German poet Heine, and was translated for inclusion in "The Golden Treasury of Scottish Poetry," edited by Hugh MacDiarmid and published by Macmillan in 1940.
Sir Alexander Gray CBE FRSE (6 January 1882-17 February 1968) was a Scottish civil servant, economist, academic, translator, writer and poet who was born in Lochee, near Dundee.
