Retire
To Retire, Dance backwards, away from the dancer you are Facing.The Figure may involve one Scottish Country Dancer or a line of dancers, with the Facing dancer(s) either stationary or, more commonly, also Retiring. Two bars are normally allocated for this Figure.
When qualified by a Place in The set, the term is sometimes used to indicate the Finishing Position.
