In 2027 the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society Summer School in St Andrews will commemorate its centenary.
To mark this occasion a special publication, RSCDS Book 55, will be released. The volume is intended to include a wide variety of material such as accounts, photographs, musical compositions and poetry, with further details to be announced in 2026.
Central to the book will be twelve newly created dances. The Society has opened a call for submissions from devisers, inviting original works to be considered for inclusion. Particular emphasis is being placed on encouraging contributions from those who have not previously had dances published by the RSCDS, ensuring that fresh voices and new ideas are represented in this landmark collection.
