These elegant dances were restored by dance historian George Emmerson (deviser of the popular strathspey, Sauchie Haugh).
In these dances, performed at the 1987 Gala Day of RSCDS Toronto, Emmerson is the gentleman in red. Though a professor of engineering, Emmerson authored several books on antique dance forms and origins, especially relating to Scottish country dance as we know it today.
