Scottish Country Dance Instruction

The Alexander Reel (R4x32) 4C (4C set) 32 bar Reel for 4 Couples in a 4 couple Set, devised by Jean Attwood, Published in Alexander Dances Book 5.

1- 8 All advance and retire
 1st and 4th couples cross right hand and cast inwards
 Meanwhile, 2nd and 3rd couples advance and lead to ends, facing out. 2143
9-16 2nd and 1st couples, 4th and 3rd couples dance half a double figure of eight
 1st and 4th couples turn corners easy hand, retaining hold and joining nearer hands with partner in double triangles, 1st couple facing up, 4th couple down
17-24 Set in double triangles
 1st man and 4th man, 1st lady and 4th lady dance halfway round each other, rejoin nearer hands with partner
 Set in double triangles again
 4th and 1st couples turn corners easy hand to finish on the sides. (2)41(3)
25-32 4th and 1st couples dance half a figure of eight out nearest end
 All set and cross right hand. 2413
