Dance Information

This dance was devised in 2024 to mark a special birthday for Irene Fairbairn.
An Caladh is a Scottish Gaelic phrase in which "an" means "the" and "caladh" means "harbour", "haven", or "landing place".

So the full meaning is "the harbour" or "the haven", with the latter often being the more natural sense as it refers to a sheltered place where boats come in to land.
