Scottish Country Dance Instruction

BIRTHDAY OFFERING (R8x32) 3C (4C set) Alison Raisin Croydon 50th Anniversary

1- 8 1s set, dance down below 3s, cast up own sides and in to face 1st corners
9-12 1s turn corners 2H while 2nd corners change place LH to form lines of 3 across (1L between 2M+3M and 1M with 2L+3L) and set (bottom line turns to face down)
13-16 All dance down in lines of 3 and turn to face up
17-24 2M+1L+3M dance up in 'Triumph' hold followed by 2L+1M+3L, all set (top line turns to face down) and 1s cross LH to face 2nd corner (position) as corners set
25-32 1s dance ½ diagonal reel of 4 with corners and pass LSh to 2nd place own side and all turn partners RH

Dance Notes

Pay particular attention to the timing when dancing down and back up. Starting on bar 13 and finishing on bar 24, the movement starts and finishes in the centre of 8 bar blocks. This may catch out the unwary.
