BONNIE STRONSHIRAY (S8x32) 3C (4C set) Robert M Campbell Glasgow Assembly1- 8 1s+2s ¾ turn 2H to form line up/down centre and dance ½ reel of 4, ¾ turn partners 2H to own sides (having changed places)
9-16 1s set advancing to partner and turn 1st corner 2H ending 1L between 2s and 1M between 3s, 1s set advancing to partner and turn 2nd corner 2H ending 2nd place opposite sides
17-24 2s+1s+3s cross RH and 1s cast to right round 3rd corner (positions) while corners turn right about and advance and retire (on diagonal), 2s+1s+3s cross RH (up/down set), 1s cast to right round 4th corner (positions) and in to face them as 2s+3s turn right about and advance and retire
25-32 1s dance ½ RSh reel of 4 with 4th corner (positions), pass LSh and dance ½ reel with 3rd corner (positions) and turn RH back to place

Strathspey 8 x 32 bars 3 Couple Repeat 4 Couple Set Longwise Set
1-2 1s 2s turn both hands ¾;
3-6 1s2s half reel of 4 (on the centreline);
7-8 2s 1s turn both hands ¾, 2s finishing in 1st place, 1s in 2nd;
9-10 1s set advancing and pass left shoulders to finish facing first corners;
11-12 1s turn first corners both hands, 1M finishing on the centre line between 2s, 1L between 3s;
13-16 1s repeat bars 9-12 (up and down) with second corners, 1s finishing in 2nd place on opposite sides;
17-18 2s 1s 3s cross by the right, 1s finishing facing out, corners pulling right shoulder back to face diagonally in;
19-20 1s cast to the right WHILE corners advance and retire diagonally, finishing 2L1M2M facing down, 3L1L3M up;
21-24 repeat bars 17-20 (crossing up and down), 1s finishing by pulling right shoulder back to face partners' second corner position;
25-28 1s half diagonal reel of 4 with second corners, finishing by passing by the left to face partners' first corner position;
29-32 1s half diagonal reel of 4 with first corners, finishing by turning by the right to 2nd place.

Robert M (Bob) Campbell states in his notes for this dance that the name comes from the fact that his family is from Stronshiray.The most like location for Stronshiray is around the northwest shore of Loch Fyne about fifteen miles southwest of Inveraray.
