Dance Information

"Ceol Na Mara The Song Of The Sea" is a modified version of the dance from 1971 called "The Song of the Sea" (The published dance instructions for "The Song of the Sea" may be viewed via the link below.)
"Ceol na mara" means "Music of the sea" in Gaelic; it should be pronounced as "Kyawl na mahr~" in English, with stress on the first syllable of each word, where:
  "y" is pronounced as in "yet";
  "aw" is pronounced as in "brawn";
  "ah" is pronounced as in "shah"; and
  "~" represents the very short, indeterminate, vowel sound.
See Gaelic Dance Names for more information on Gaelic spelling and pronunciation.
