Dance Information

This jig, Cruising Emerson Street, is named after Emerson Street, one of the main streets of Napier in New Zealand, and regarded as an "art deco" district.

Central Napier is the central area and business district of Napier, in the Hawke's Bay region of New Zealand's eastern North Island. The main shopping street/downtown area of Napier is Emerson Street.

Central Napier enjoys Art Deco (c. 1908 to 1935) style architecture on surrounding buildings in Emerson Street, with most houses built between 1900-2010.
