Round The Room, 2 facing 2

1- 4 Ladies turn 1¼ RH while Men dance ¾ round clockwise. All end in partner's place
5- 8 Men turn 1¼ RH while Ladies dance ¾ round clockwise. All end in original places
9-12 All nearer hands joined with partner set, advancing on 2nd step, all set retiring nearer hands joined with opposite dancer (facing partners) and then set on 2nd step (couples now facing in/out of circle)
13-16 All dance RH across
17-20 All nearer hands joined with "new partner" set, advancing on 2nd step, all set retiring nearer hands joined with partner, and then set on 2nd step (all in original places)
21-24 All dance LH across
25-32 All dance DoSiDo with opposite dancer and all pass opposite dancer RSh to meet new couple

The deviser of this dance, Rachel Shankland, is a qualified teacher at the Dumfries Branch of the R.S.C.D.S.

People from Dumfries are known colloquially as Doonhamers.

Dumfries is a market town within the Dumfries and Galloway council area of Scotland, the final resting place of the immortal Robert Burns.
