Scottish Country Dance Instruction

1- 8 1st and 3rd couples dance down three places as 4th couple step up
 4th with 1st couple, and 5th with 3rd couple, circle four hands round to the left. 24153
 (1st place is empty)
9-16 1st and 3rd couples turn partner right hand, moving to between 4th and 5th couples
 On both sides, 1st couple turn 4th couple left hand, and 3rd couple turn 5th couple left hand
 1st and 3rd couples turn partner right hand, moving up to between 2nd and 4th couples
 On both sides, 1st couple turn 2nd couple left hand, and 3rd couple turn 4th couple left hand
 (Corners finish in 2nd, 4th, and 5th places)
17-24 1st and 3rd couples dance up and cast down around 2nd and 4th couples as 2nd and 4th couples step up
 1st and 3rd couples turn left hand 1½ times to face 1st corners
25-40 In each "square", dance to each corner and set eight times
 At the end, 1st and 3rd couples loop right onto the centre line (3rd man, 1st man, 3rd lady, 1st lady)
 2nd, 4th, and 5th couples finish in diagonally opposite places
41-48 5th, 4th, and 2nd couples chase halfway clockwise
 Meanwhile, 3rd and 1st couples dance half a reel of four on the centre line, the middle two finishing with a loop right to face partner
 1st and 3rd couples turn partner left hand ¾ times and cast down as 4th and 5th couples step up to finish. 24153
