Dance Information

Sadly, because I have arthritis in both my hips and lower back, I spend three mornings a week down at the hydrotherapy pool in Lower Hutt.

The warm water along with the weightlessness allows my joints and muscles to relax and exercise without causing damage. I love this activity and especially meeting a brand-new group of people who are also endeavouring to improve their health conditions. We have a lot of laughs, and sharing our pain lifts our spirits.

One day I arrived at the pool only to realise I had forgotten to take my medication and so rang Damon to see if he could drop it in to me as I need to take it an hour before breakfast, and he was cycling down to meet me for coffee.

There are two interesting guys at the pool that often make stories up about the comings and goings at the pool (it helps pass the time and can be quite humorous). They saw Damon appear, with a small container and a bottle of water, and asked me what it was all about. From then on, he has been referred to as "The Drug Runner". I thought it a magic name for a dance.

Recommended Tune: Neil M Grant CD: RSCDS Bk 49 track 1 by Jim Lindsay and his band.
