Dance Information

Noting that the deviser of this dance, Shun Inagaki, lives in Tokyo, Japan, it is likely that the elegant cranes in mind are the red-crowned crane (Grus japonensis), also called the Japanese crane or Manchurian crane.

The Japanese crane is among the rarest cranes in the world and in some parts of its range, it is known as a symbol of luck, longevity, strength, and fidelity.
