EVELYN'S DANCE (S3x32) 3C set Roy Goldring Social Dances 2002 (Leeds 40th Anniv)

1- 4 1s cross RH and cast 1 place dancing in to face 2nd corners
5-16 Dance to Corners and Set:
 Couple in middle change places with corners passing RSh, corners pass RSh in middle with a ¼ turn to right to face next corner while supporting corners set (2 bars). Repeat 4 more times. On bars 15-16 1s and 1st corners turn ½ RH to sidelines while 2nd corner positions (3M and 2L) set. (3)1(2)
17-24 3L (followed by 1M) cross and cast to 3rd/2nd place Ladies' side while 2M (followed by 1L) dance similar to 1st/2nd place Men's side, 1s turn 1½ LH
25-32 3M (followed by 1L) cross and cast to 3rd/2nd place Men's side while 2L (followed by 1M) dance similar to 1st/2nd place Ladies' side, 1s cross LH and cast to 3rd place (3s step up) 231

Dance Information

This strathspey, Evelyn's Dance, was a birthday surprise for Evelyn Ramwell. It has its own tune, Evelyn's Strathspey, by John Renton.

Evelyn Ramwell, dance teacher and deviser, taught a class at Cockermouth Scottish Country Dance Club for 17 years, also holding office as Joint President of the club with her husband, Joe.

The Club, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010, dances at the Methodist Church Hall, Cockermouth.
