Dance Notes
Note that this dance has the format of a 3-couple repeat in a 4-couple set with the dancing couple performing the odd-numbered repeats, in strathspey tempo, from 1st place of the full set and the even-numbered, in reel tempo, from 2nd place of the full set.24-24 In the reel, 3s step in to the centre, finishing with both hands joined.
-24 In the strathspey, 1s finish in the sidelines; in the reel, they finish in the centre with both hands joined.
25-32 The devisers have cleverly used the non-progressive strathspey poussette in the odd-numbered repeats in order to keep the dancing couple in 2nd place of the full set ready for the reel and, in the even-numbered repeats, the progressive (pas-de-basque) poussette to drop them neatly to 4th place of the full set.

Fifty Years Young... Et Alors? - Scottish Country Dancing Instruction VideoDance Information
This dance was created for Sophie Marchand, the Scottish Country Dance teacher and president of the Méaudre Reel, on the occasion of her 50th birthday. Her adult SCD students surprised her with a first demo of this dance on April 4, 2022.This was an opportunity to thank her for her commitment to teaching SCD in the Vercors for more than 15 years. Through her dynamism and with a lot of patience, she has indeed brought the taste and the pleasure of dancing to dozens and dozens of students, young and old!
