THE FRIENDS' ANNIVERSARY REEL (R8x32) Cath Monument 20231- 8 1s lead down between 3s, cross and cast up to 2nd place, opposite sides, 2s stepping up on bars 3+4. 2s,1s and 3s join hands and set and 1s cross RH to face out on own sides.
9-16 2s,1s and 3s dance a Promenade Chaperone progression:
9-10 1M casts up, 1L casts down as 2s and 3s turn ¾ RH into line up/down set.
11-14 1M+2L and 1L+3M, in prom hold dance clockwise to opposite end of line as 2M+3L (in middle) turn 1½ LH
15-16 1s dance clockwise to 2nd place own side as 3s+2s turn partners ¾ RH to own sides.
17-24 3s,1s,2s advance and retire and turn RH into Allemande hold ready for an Allemande
25-32 3s,1s,2s dance an Allemande.

The Friends' Anniversary Reel (R8x32) Bar Reel for 3 Couples in a 4 Couple Set Cath Monument 2023
1- 8 1st couple lead down between 3rd couple cross and cast up to 2nd place opposite side, 2nd couple step up on bars 3 and 4.
2nd, 1st and 3rd couples join hands and set, 1st couple cross over Right hand to face out on own sides.
9-16 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples dance a Promenade Chaperone Chain Progression as follows:
9-10 1st man cast up, 1st lady cast down as 2nd and 3rd couples turn partner Right hand ¾ into line up and down the middle of the set.
11-14 1st man with 2nd lady also 1st lady with 3rd man in promenade hold dance clockwise to the opposite end of the line as 2nd man and 3rd lady (in middle) turn Left hand 1½ to change places.
15-16 1st couple dance clockwise to 2nd place own side as 3rd and 2nd couples turn partner Right hand ¾ to own sides.
17-24 3rd, 1st and 2nd couples advance and retire and turn Right hand into Allemande hold ready for:
25-32 3rd, 1st and 2nd couples dance an Allemande.
Repeat the dance from new positions.

This dance was written for all the friends of the "Friends' Dance Group" to celebrate their 1st Anniversary in January 2023.In January 2022, a group of dancing friends found that a dance they had intended to go to had been cancelled. Disappointed, they decided to hire a hall just for one evening and spread the word to other dancers. A good number of people turned up and after a little discussion they decided to make it a regular event on the 3rd Saturday of every month (except March and November). The dances have proved very popular. They meet in the Bramhall United Reformed Church near Wilmslow, Cheshire.
